The story behind this 2023 painting:
In an alternative Universe, the Earth was not hit by a giant meteor and as a result, the dinosaurs never went extinct. Instead, they evolved into Dino Sapient whose artistic culture runs in parallel with ours.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is just as beloved of a children’s literature classic in the dino universe, as it is in ours. The story features many of the same characters, with the exception of all humans having been naturally replaced by dinosaurs: e.g. Dino-Alice is a girl velociraptor!
She had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.

Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next. First, she tried to look down and make out what she was coming to, but it was too dark to see anything; then she looked at the sides of the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves; here and there she saw maps and pictures hung upon pegs.

Alice opened the door and found that it led into a small passage, not much larger than a rat-hole: she knelt down and looked along the passage into the loveliest garden you ever saw. How she longed to get out of that dark hall, and wander about among those beds of bright flowers and those cool fountains, but she could not even get her head through the doorway; “and even if my head would go through,” thought poor Alice, “it would be of very little use without my shoulders. Oh, how I wish I could shut up like a telescope! I think I could, if I only knew how to begin.” For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible.

Alas for poor Alice! when she got to the door, she found she had forgotten the little golden key, and when she went back to the table for it, she found she could not possibly reach it: she could see it quite plainly through the glass, and she tried her best to climb up one of the legs of the table, but it was too slippery.

“You ought to be ashamed of yourself,” said Alice, “a great girl like you,” (she might well say this), “to go on crying in this way! Stop this moment, I tell you!” But she went on all the same, shedding gallons of tears, until there was a large pool all round her, about four inches deep and reaching half down the hall.

The story behind this 2021 painting:
Here we have a group of lemurs attempting to break into the vault located at the center of a giant nautilus shell converted into an underground cave. In other words, just their regular Tuesday.

This framed painting has two layers, separated by a thin glass sheet: the first layer is the background containing a watercolor view of the Notre Dame. The second layer is composed of clownfish, painted in watercolor, and real leaves, glued onto the glass. Another glass sheet covers this second layer, resulting in an artwork that is ready to be hung.

The story behind this 2020 painting:
One early automne day in 2020, the artist was walking her whippet (a little greyhound) on the southern bank of the river Seine. A yellow-leaved tree that she saw across from the Notre Dame de Paris on the other side reminded her of the anemones that clownfish like to hide in. Is that what Paris would look like underwater? Let’s hope we never find out.

The story behind this 2022 painting:
This painting is part of my Lemur series, which follows the adventures of a group of well-meaning, but mischievous lemurs. The lemurs are not delinquent per se, but they do not hesitate to take matters into their own little paws when faced with injustice.
"Sailing the high seas" was born out of a period in my life when several people close to me were facing various levels of harassment in the workplace. At the time, I had an idea for a painting depicting a lemur operating an airship (a sort of dirigible Nautilus shell, to be precise). I had the image in my head for awhile, but was not sure what the said lemur was up to. Then one night I was reminded of a kooky incident that happened a few years ago: on a former colleague's last day at work, someone set fire to the company's underground parking lot. No one, except for the empty company car, got injured, and the feat was jokingly attributed to the colleague whom we all knew left in a... shall we say, irregular manner.
The Lemur's story is that of fighting back: after months of harassment by the management and intimidation by the HR department, the Lemur has had enough. One evening, after everyone had gone home, the Lemur set the office building ablaze. She then commandeered the fire department's airship, putting her signature graffiti tag over the firefighters' sign, watched the loathed walls go up in flames, before letting go and setting sail for her new adventure.

The story behind these 2020 paintings:
Space travel is one of the topics that fascinate me the most in life. In these two paintings, I depicted the most noteworthy events in the human exploration of Mars: from the first orbital probes to the Mars 2020 mission. Every apparatus that I drew has a name plate and a year with a few words about the mission written on it.

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, “and what is the use of a book,” thought Alice “without pictures or conversations?”
So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.
